Last week, I posted a tiny tune about my struggles with writing songs about God. It got me thinking about how to break past that mental block, which then led me to the Psalms.
Singing the Psalms is nothing new. We love Brian Sauve in our house! He takes the Psalms and puts them to music; maybe I could do that, too.
I started working on Psalm 1, and now I’m hooked. That initial seed of an idea has grown into a full-blown garden. I’m going to need some time to really bring this new project to life, as I’m imagining it in my head.
So, for now, I will pause Tiny Tune Tuesdays while I see what God has for this new musical venture. I’ll still post on Fridays, continuing with my Tuscany with B series and then switching back to some Flash Fiction and personal essays.
To give you an idea of what I envision for the Psalms, here’s a very rough concept demo of Psalm 1. I would love to hear any thoughts and comments you may have! If you’re a Christian, would you enjoy listening to this? Do you find the visual appealing? Would music and content like this be helpful to you in your walk with Christ? If you’re not a Christian, do you find it cool in any way? Would the visual cause you to pause while doom-scrolling?
I love it. The text is enough to keep my attention because i already like reading lyrics as I sing. And you have a lovely voice :) i think this is a cool way to try out different styles as well
